Five Thing to Know About New Canaan: September 6

Calling all actors, the Town Players are holding open auditions for Amadeus, plus more.

1. Auditions Date Change: The Town Players of New Canaan are holding for Amadeus Thursday and Friday nights at 7:30 p.m. at the Powerhouse Theatre, Waveny Park. Auditions were originally scheduled for tonight and tomorrow nights. 
2. Goodbye Dinosaur Summer, hello Coral Reef Adventure - the new IMAX movie at the Maritime Aquarium. "Voyage to coral reefs in the South Pacific to explore their remarkable contribution to life on earth – but also the imminent dangers they face." Narrated by Liam Neeson, music by Crosby, Stills & Nash and "includes the efforts of renowned ocean advocate Jean-Michel Cousteau, son of the pioneering oceanographer Jacques Cousteau." Showtimes are at 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m. daily through January 12.

4. As part of National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, Norwalk Hospital will be giving Wednesday from 5 to 6 p.m. to men between the ages of 50 and 70 with no insurance or no primary care physician.
5. A special meeting of the Historic District Commission will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the East Room in Town Hall.
