Five Things to Know About New Canaan: September 16

Live Green Connecticut event at Taylor Farm Norwalk, plus more.

  1. The 2nd Annual Live Green Connecticut will take place this Saturday and Sunday at Taylor Farm. "Celebrate and learn to ‘Live Green’ at our two day fun filled festival for all ages! Enjoy Delicious Food, Live Music, Eco-friendly shopping, Environmental speakers and exhibits! ‘Green’ Dogs Welcome….on a Leash of course."
  2. This Saturday the 13th Annual Matthew Zucker Memorial Scholarship Fund Ergathon will take place at three area locations. Check out the link to see where you can participate.
  3. Visit Francos Wine Merchants this Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m.for their weekly wine tasting. This week they will be pouring wines from Heller Estate Organic Vineyards in California.
  4. Former Special Education and English teacher at New Canaan High School, Jill Sawyer, will be at this Saturday from noon to 2:30 p.m. signing copies of her new crime novel, Metro Line Murder.
  5. As the weather turns colder it seems like a good time to advice you that on Sunday, Oct. 2 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., "The New Canaan Health Department will hold its Seasonal Flu Clinic at Saxe Middle School-Main Gym. The cost will be $30 for those paying by cash, check, debit card, MasterCard or VISA. Medicare will be billed at the allowable rate.
