Five Things to Know About New Canaan: September 21

This Saturday is hazardous waste collection day.

1. "Household Hazardous Waste Day" is Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Wastewater Plant - 394 Main Street.
2. Does your child love to write? Does their imagination blow you away? Then sign them up for the at The New Canaan Libray at 4:15 p.m. this Thursday. The program is for grades 3-5 "and will offer time for kids to learn about and create characters, develop plots and settings that will make their stories really shine."
3. The is hosting a tag sale and car wash to help support the amazing programs that they put on through out the year. If you love the shows then show your support! 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
4. This Saturday step into the past and visit the last operating one room school right here in New Canaan. will be open for public viewing and "some of the school's alumni will be on hand to tell about their experiences as students in this school." 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
5. At 10:30 a.m. today in the Town Hall Board Room there will be another Special First Selectmen Meeting. This meeting's agenda will include a new chilling unit for East School.
