More Snow Coming to New Canaan Saturday

The National Weather Service is calling for up to four inches here.

If it goes as forecasted, it'll be child's play for Mose Saccary and the gang—the New Canaan highway crew that earned accolades from town officials and residents for clearing our roads so quickly and effectively after a winter storm walloped the area.

There's a slight chance of snow after midnight Friday into Saturday, and then a 60 percent chance that we'll get snow Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. How much? About two to four inches, mainly between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., and then a slight chance of snow Sunday.

Before anyone on New Canaan Patch gets into it again: School is out Monday because of Washington's Birthday—what some call "Presidents' Day"—and winter break follows for the balance of the week. For what it's worth: The same amount of snow is forecast, at this time, for areas up the coast and county, such as Fairfield, Bridgeport, Stratford and Trumbull—towns cited by the superintendent of schools in deciding to cancel school here Monday although New Canaan's own roads were clear (roads were far from that in many towns in Fairfield County, including some where district officials say our teachers and bus drivers reside).
