Police were called to a Millport Avenue residence Thursday, April 11, after a teenager informed authorities he and his mother were involved in a verbal dispute growing out of control.

According to Sgt. Carol Ogrinc, the 16-year-old told police they had been arguing. A knife was thrown at the boy during the argument by his 52-year-old mother, Ogrinc said, who also stated the knife did not strike or cut the boy in any way.

The woman was intoxicated upon police arrival, Ogrinc said. She was arrested and charged withfourth-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, second-degree threatening, first-degree reckless endangerment and interfering with an officer. She was held on a $5,000 bond until her scheduled court date Monday.
