New Canaan's unemployment rate now sits at its lowest level since this past April.
According to the latest figures released by the Connecticut Department of Labor, New Canaan's unemployment for December was 5.0 percent.
In October, the town's unemployment rate was at 6.0 and in November it dropped to 5.7 percent.
Additionally, the department's figures also showed the labor force in New Canaan dropped slightly over the same two-month period: from 8,795 in October to 8,580 in December.
State, National Unemployment Rate
In Connecticut, the pool of jobless people last month also dropped to 7.8 percent overall. Nationally, the United State's unemployment rate is 7.6 percent.
