Opossum Enters Dining Room in New Canaan

The marsupial left through an open door before police got there.

A Valley Road resident on Feb. 2 called police to say she had an opossum (sometimes called a “possum,” same thing) in her dining room, officials said.

Nobody had contact with the pink-nosed marsupial—no people, no domestic animals—when police responded to the 7:06 p.m. call, according to Officer Mary Ann Kleinschmitt of the New Canaan Police Department’s animal control unit.
