PHOTOS: Signs of Spring in New Canaan?

Today, March 20, marks the first day of spring. New Canaan Patch looks at some iconic spots in town for signs of the new season.

 

According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, spring starts with the Northern Hemisphere's vernal equinox at 7:02 a.m. Eastern today. A look around town tells a different story.

We've seen some unseasonably warm days since the fall, to be sure. And even if it doesn't feel like it, New Canaanites may feel eager to put the winter—and it's three storms—behind the town, and to put another season between Hurricane Sandy and now.
