Picnicking is Serious Business at Waveny Park

During the summer, Waveny Park is the place to be on Wednesday nights.

A weekly concert series provides great tunes, but the real entertainment is the food.

To say picnicking is taken seriously is an understatement. New Canaan residents and people from surrounding towns come to Waveny Park to show off their creative summer meals made with all kinds of fun ingredients. Their baskets overflow with items one would never suspect as picnic food. Sometimes the dining alfresco even gets competitive.

As the summer comes to a close picnickers are enjoying the last days of checkered blankets, baskets and coolers.
