The PIN system at New Canaan dog parks is now in full effect. If you have a pet and want to utilize the Spencer's Run dog park, you'll now need to make sure your pet is registered in your home town and pay a registration fee to receive a unique PIN that can be used to enter the run.
Animal Control Officer Maryann Kleinschmitt said the codes will allow authorities to track the comings-and-goings of dogs that might be causing problems and limit the population on days where many people want to use the run. Kleinschmitt said she'd like to keep the cap at about 50 in the run at once.
Fees for the PIN codes are $25 for residents and $40 for non-residents. The fees go towards upkeep for the facility. Check out the video above for Kleinschmitt's explanation.
