Report: Police Hunt Second Boston Marathon Suspect, First Suspect Dead

A search is underway in Watertown for the second Boston Marathon suspect, following the fatal shooting of a MIT campus police officer and a chaotic night starting in Cambridge, according to Watertown, MA Patch.

Reporting for Watertown Patch are Chris CaesarJohn WallerDaniel DeMainaFranklin TuckerRyan Grannan-Doll, and Liz Taurasi.

The first suspect in Monday's Boston Marathon bombing is dead, officials said early Friday, and they're searching for the second suspect, Watertown, MA Patch reports.

In what the Associated Press is calling a "long night of violence," the pair attempted to make a getaway as authorities closed in, throwing explosives at police and in the process killing a MIT police officer and injuring a transit officer.

Watertown Patch cites the AP in reporting that the surviving Boston bomb suspect is Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, 19, of Cambridge.

"We believe this man to be a terrorist," Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis said at a post-4 a.m. press conference about the at large suspect, Watertown Patch reports. "We believe this to be a man who's come here to kill people. We need to get him in custody."
