A White Oak Shade Road resident on Feb. 7 called police to report a roaming dog—a small dog, wearing a red vest.
The dog clearly belonged to someone (red vest) but it was gone by the time police arrived, according to Officer Mary Ann Kleinschmitt of the New Canaan Police Department’s animal control unit.
“If they [people who report roaming dogs] do not secure it, then often we can’t find it so we can’t bring it in,” she said.
