Early Dismissal for New Canaan Schools [UPDATE]

New Canaan schools will dismiss students early Monday "in anticipation of the storm that includes ice," district officials say.

Here are the dismissal times:
- New Canaan High School: 10:30 a.m.
- Saxe Middle School seventh and eighth grades: 10:30 a.m.
- Saxe Middle School fifth and sixth grades: 11:15 a.m.
- South School: 11:15 a.m.
- East and West Schools: 12 p.m.

New Canaan will see snow and freezing rain this afternoon, followed by rain and more snow and sleet later tonight, according to the National Weather Service.
Little or no ice is expected to acculumulate, the weather service says.
A handful of districts in the county have called for early dismissal from schools Monday, citing the inclement weather and potentially hazardous road conditions. No word yet from New Canaan schools on an early dismissal. A "daytime open house" is scheduled for today at Saxe Middle School, according to the New Canaan Public Schools website.
Metro-North Railroad has issued a "winter weather advisory," telling commuters to allow for additional travel time.
Tonight, rain is likely, the weather service says:
Rain likely, mainly before 8pm, then a slight chance of drizzle. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 34. West wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
