New Canaan is hopping this weekend with activities for all ages -- from babes to dads.

(Editor's Note: This column originally ran on Thursday, March 17, and we're re-running it today because we know what it's like to wake up on Saturday morning looking for something to do with the kids. There's still time to grab pancakes, catch The Drowsy Chaperone or get in a good game of hoops. Have a great weekend!)

'Tis the season. Visit the New Canaan Nature Center for , a day of all things maple, including a maple-themed bake sale, a hike down Maple Lane to watch a tapping demo and maple sap boil down, and maple-themed crafts. Warm up around the campfire and share tall tales of this winter's adventures. March 19

Lots going on at the this week: for your littlest one, there's Book Babies at 11:00, a program for babies and toddlers -- have fun with rhymes, songs, fingerplays, a special book and socializing (March 17); sing your little hearts out at the Preschool Sing-along with Diane Wells at 10:00 (March 18); and also for preschoolers is the Spring Craft Workshop (March 21)

Bone up on your basketball skills, while raising money for communities in need. The New Canaan YMCA will host Hoops 4 Humanity, open to boys and girls in 1st through 8th grades, with a special 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament (form your own team, if you like) and Shooting Contest. And kids, have fun watching your sleepy Dads play a 5-on-5 Tournament starting at 7:00 a.m. March 19

And now that you've got your game on, get ready for some laughs and good fun at the , held at the New Canaan High School and benefiting the Outback Teen Center.
