Top 3 Things for This Weekend: Sunset Sailing, Live Theater and a Sunday Stroll

After the holiday, there's still plenty to do around town and nearby.

So the fireworks are over for the Fourth of July holiday, but that doesn't mean there's a dearth of fun activities and events this weekend. Here's New Canaan Patch's Top 3 picks for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

SUNSET SAIL – Spend your Friday evening aboard the tall ship SoundWaters for a relaxing cruise along Long Island Sound. Bring your dinner and your favorite beverage and relax while watching the sun dip below the horizon. Departs in Stamford at the Harbor Point Marina at 6:30 p.m., July 5. FREE SHOW - Check out one of the shows presented weekend mornings in Waveny Park by the Summer Theater of New Canaan. A popular classic, The Cat in the Hat begins 10 a.m. Saturday morning. Tickets range from $18 to $125 for picnic tables.

WALKING TOUR – Taking place at the Fairfield Museum and History Center at 370 Beach Road in Fairfield, the Burning or Fairfield Walking Tour is a "stroll back in time," that explores "the history and events surrounding the attack on Fairfield by the British on July 7, 1779." Starts at 4 p.m. on July 7. To pre-register, which is requested, call (203) 259-1598.
