Waveny House's 'Sister' to be Auctioned Off
The 6.25 acre New Canaan estate was once valued at $22 million, according to a report in the Stamford Advocate.
Waveny House’s “sister” mansion, Wexford Hall, 577 Oenoke Ridge, is currently up for bidding at Concierge Auctions, with a “reserve” (i.e. starting) price of $6.75 million.

The 15,910 square foot Tudor mansion — which is the same architectural style and approximately the same size as — was built in 1929 by architect William Tubby, but has seen several additions since, according to the report. It has 25 rooms, 10 fireplaces and a “viewing tower from which Manhattan is visible on a clear night.”

As reported via in October, the stagnated luxury real estate market has propelled the growing trend among anxious property owners to put their estates up for auction. The supposed advantage to wealthier homeowners is that they can offload their homes within a more controlled time frame, even if it means taking a huge loss.
One New Canaan home was recently auctioned by Concierge “absolute,” meaning there was a starting price of $0.
