Winter Storm to Bring Ice, Snow Overnight

The National Weather Service is calling for up to three inches of accumulation into Tuesday, followed by a rainy, gusty day.

 

New Canaan is expecting to see snow, freezing rain and sleet overnight Monday, creating dangerously icy roads.

According to the National Weather Service, it’ll rain Tuesday especially before 3 p.m. with wind gusts reaching as high as 21 mph.

“Snow will shift from the Great Lakes to the Northeast on Tuesday as a storm tracks along the Mid-Atlantic Coast,” the weather service says. “Interior sections of the Northeast will see significant accumulations along with strong winds.”

Here in New Canaan, Monday night’s Board of Education meeting was canceled as the weather set in.
