The Young Women's League of New Canaan (YWL) will hold its second annual, spring fund-raising event, "Couture For A Cause,” on Friday May 3, at 7 pm at the Loading Dock in Stamford. The event includes cocktails, light bites, dancing, auction, and a fashion show of this spring's trends.
The event is presented by Porsche of Fairfield and Serendipity Magazine. Recently some members of YWL visited Porsche of Fairfield. “On behalf of Porsche of Fairfield and all of our employees we are again pleased to show support for the less fortunate in our communities through the Young Women’s League of New Canaan and hope the Couture for a Cause event raises both awareness and funding for all of these worthwhile programs, ” John Resnick of Porsche of Fairfield, said.
Other top sponsors include: April Kaynor Homes, She La La, Cosmetic Doctors and Wellness Center, Robert Bottone M.D., Norwalk Hospital, Caren Forbes, Soleil Toile, Lyn Evans Potpurri Designs, Walin & Wolff and Camp Playland.
Net proceeds from the event will be given to the local charities that the YWL has chosen as grant recipients. "It is so important to support organizations like The Bridgeport Rescue Mission, The Lower Fairfield County Food Bank and The Starfish Connection in the fight to break the downward spiral where many people find themselves. At The Young Women's League, we are always trying to find new ways to raise funds for these worthy causes and have fun at the same time. YWL members and other men and women from the community will model new looks featured by New Canaan retailers such as Caren Forbes, La Malle Couture, Lyn Evans Potpourri Designs, She La La, Soleil Toile, TOGS, and J.McLaughlin, Sara Campbell, Island Outfitters, Skirtin Around, Dorothy Mann and L'Armoire. Divaz, Kiklo, Benefit, Space NK and Merle Norman will assist with hair and makeup for the models.
Tickets are $100 per person and available online at ywlnewcanaan.org. The League is also offering VIP tickets for $150 per person which will provide reserved front row seating and a gift bag. Tickets may also be purchased at Caren Forbes, La Malle Couture, Potpourri, She La La and Soleil Toile.
