PHOTO 2013, the 33rd Annual Photography Exhibition at the Carriage Barn Arts Center in Waveny Park, located at 681 South Avenue, New Canaan, CT 06840. The show runs from January 23rd through March 3rd, 2013. An opening reception, free and open to the public, will be held on Wednesday, January 23rd, from 5:30 – 7:30pm. Presentation to prize winners selected by juror Joshua Chuang, Associate Curator of Photography and Digital Media at the Yale University Art Gallery, will be awarded at 6:30pm including cash prizes for Best in Show, Color, Black &White and Student images. The show is sponsored by the Barbara Benton Davis Fund at the Fairfield County Community Foundation and the New Canaan Society for the Arts. Gallery hours are Wednesday – Sunday, 11am – 4 pm. By abandoning their prior procedure of approving posts before they go up, they are letting anything go on and then taking them down if they're reported. By then, it's too late: the poster has gotten their message across during the time it's in the lineup.
I only check in with Patch occasionally now and so many people in town won't read it at all anymore.
I think we need to be honest with ourselves about what kind of a public forum this venue is.
This doesn't reflect well on Staples if they are using subterfuge and violating Terms of Use on Patch either.
