Halloween with Harmony Lodge and NEAD

Halloween with Harmony Lodge and NEAD

The day was October 29th in the year of two thousand and eleven.  It was the beginning of the Halloween nor’easter that cancelled this spooky holiday for the town of New Canaan. Ghouls, goblins, princesses and fairies that usually stroll through Elm Street parading their costumes of the year, were not allowed because of the snowy storm that caused thousands to lose power and Halloween spirit. Although there were still some brave souls roaming the snowy streets, it seemed as though most forgot about this usually fun and creative holiday. This nor’easter played a similar role to the Grinch who stole Christmas, creating havoc with this very popular holiday.

On October 31st, the dancers of New England Academy of Dance will be helping the free Masons to create the best Haunted House and play place for the trick-or-treaters of New Canaan, contained within our property, and not out on the street. Upon entering 231 Main Street, visitors will first enter the Haunted House and look for all the hidden mysteries inside.  Exiting to the back parking lot of the building, children will have the chance to play in a bouncy house, get their faces painted and see fun performances. There will be free festive refreshments provided including hot dogs, hot apple cider, and of course, CANDY! This Halloween event will take place from 4:30 to 8:30pm on the day of Halloween. This is a great and safe place for your children to enjoy the day! We hope to see everyone there, at the corner of Main Street and Church Street.

Happy Halloween everyone!
