NEDT and NEAD's 27th Anniversary Nutcracker Ballet

Opulent sets and dazzling costumes serve as the backdrop to showcase the talent of the Nutcracker cast who bring these exciting characters to life on stage. The show is comprised of a total of over 238 dancers from NC and other adjacent towns, in  including students from the New England Academy of Dance Dance Theater, 25 highly trained NEDT Company members and professional dancers from New York City.  For both the youngest dancers performing for the first time as Angels, through the most advanced senior girls, performing for the 10th or 11th or 12th time, the magic of The Nutcracker casts its spell on all.  “It is the most magical time of year and there is no better way to celebrate it than by performing in the Nutcracker, “ says Severn Davies a six-time performer.  The excitement and enthusiasm runs high among parents of NEAD students as well, many of whom will take the stage in the opening “party scene” in Act I.  The result is a production that will delight audiences of all ages with a charming story told through superbly executed choreography.
