Free Throws for Full Court Peace

On Sunday, January 26th from 3pm to 8pm at New Canaan High School, NCHS Varsity Basketball Coach, Mike Evans, will host the charity fundraiser, “Free Throws for Full Court Peace.” It is a day of basketball, games, fun and fundraising!

Full Court Peace is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that uses basketball as a unifier in places like Belfast, Northern Ireland; Havana, Cuba and; Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.

Most recently, Evans, the Founder and Executive Director of the organization, started a program to unite divergent groups within Fairfield County on the basketball court. This fundraiser is aimed at helping local youth in Connecticut.

Free Throws for Full Court Peace is for boys and girls in grades 3 through 8. Each participant will shoot 100 free throws on January 26th, and should ask their friends and family beforehand to sponsor them for each shot they make out of their 100 attempts. Registration and sponsorship forms can be found at www.fullcourtpeace.org under “Free Throws for Full Court Peace.” The boy and girl in each grade who raise the most money can win a number of different prizes; there are also games and shooting competitions at the event for the participants. Email Mike at michaelevans@fullcourtpeace.org with questions!
