Junior Company presents free performance of THE LITTLE MERMAID Junior Friday at Waveny Park

MIddle school students from across lower Fairfield
County make up the Jr Company of The Summer Theatre of New Canaan. This Friday,
following a three-week acting and rehearsal program, they will present one
performance of The Disney classic The
Little Mermaid, Jr.
in the Summer Theatre of New Canaan’s Open-air tent
theatre in Waveny Park, New Canaan. The junior acting company rehearsed and
worked with the professional actors, creative and technical staff to present
this fully produced Disney Classic production as a special event at their
theatre festival at Waveny Park. 



The Junior Company performance of The Little Mermaid
is presented free and open to the public. 
According to Artistic Director Melody Libonati, “The is a very talented
group of young actors and we expect this to be a great learning and performance
experience for our Jr. Company members and for families with young children who
can attend this fun show for free!”  The
performance is at 4PM, Friday July 26 at Waveny Park, New Canaan.

The Summer Theatre of New Canaan’s theatre festival at Waveny Park
includes: for young audiences on weekend mornings and early afternoons through
August 11th,  PINKALCIOUS, THE
MUSICAL, DR. SEUSS’S THE CAT IN THE HAT and DISNEY’S THE LITTLE MERMAID JR. For
adults and teens, GREASE, the Broadway hit musical about the 50’s,  Wednesday through Saturday evenings and Saturday
and Sunday matinees also through August 11th.

For directions via auto and train go to stonc.org and click
on directions or set GPS units for Summer Theatre of New Canaan located at 11 Farm
Road, New Canaan CT. Take the New Canaan High School Entrance and follow road
to Dunning Field and Waveny Park. The Outdoor Tent Theatre and picnic areas are
adjacent to Parking area.
