With their win earlier this month at Wimbledon, the Bryan Brothers became the first pair in the Open Era and the first duo since 1951 to hold all four Grand Slam doubles titles simultaneously.  They also won the gold medal in last year’s Summer Olympics in London.  Bob and Mike Bryan are the all-time team record holder with 91 doubles championships, including 15 doubles Grand Slam titles. These include victories at the French Open (2003, 2013), US Open (2005, 2008, 2010 and 2012), Australian Open (2006, 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011, 2013), and Wimbledon (2006, 2011, 2013). They also hold the U.S. Davis Cup doubles team record, and have been the world number one doubles team longer than anyone else in doubles history.

“We are very excited about having Bob and Mike Bryan back to the Lake Club again this year,” noted Berend van Toor, Director of Tennis at the Lake Club since 1999. “They are the greatest men’s doubles team ever, and the match-up with Max Mirnyi and Horia Tecau could be a preview of the U.S. Open finals in September.”

The exhibition match will benefit two noteworthy children’s charities, Norwalk Grassroots Tennis and the National Tennis Foundation, where a percentage of ticket sales will be donated to each charity.  Last year, the event was sold out and raised more than $50,000. Both non-profit groups offer after-school tennis programs to under privileged and inner city youth, and make the game of tennis more accessible to many children who otherwise would not have the opportunity to play. For more information on these charities, go to www.nationaltennisfoundation.org and www.norwalkgrassrootstennis.com.

In conjunction with The Lake Club, the Bryan Brothers exhibition is being sponsored by Callari Auto Group of BMW, Mini, Fiat and Volvo, American Business, Rangeley Capital, Moet-Hennessey, Events Party and Tent Rental and anonymous Lake Club member donors.
