Broadway, Film & TV Star Lucie Arnaz Holds Masterclass

Vocal Workshop
at Performing Arts Conservatory of New Canaan.

The Performing Arts Conservatory of New Canaan, which teaches voice, acting, dance and piano with its staff of trained professional performing artists, will hold a masterclass Vocal Workshop for all its vocal students with Lucie Arnaz.   On Saturday November 2nd, Lucie and accompanist David Turner, Summer Theatre of New Canaan Music Director, will work with the “Conservatory” students, helping them better understand vocal performance styles and techniques.

“We are pleased to have Lucie hold this masterclass at our school to both inspire and instruct our students” says Melody Libonati, Director of the “Conservatory”.  “She is a great performer and a wonderful teacher” adds Melody.  The Masterclass Vocal Workshop with Lucie is part of the “Conservatory’s” masterclass series that brings in top professional artists in their field to work closely with “Conservatory” students throughout the year.  Masterclass teaching artists this year have included two-time Broadway Tony nominee Robin de Jesus who held a musical theatre Boot Camp and David Friedman, a Broadway composer/writer, music director and Disney animated films vocal arranger who held motivational technique vocal workshops.

Lucie Arnaz has had an extremely diversified career spanning over 45 years in show business. She has starred on Broadway in They’re Playing Our Song (Theatre World, LA Drama Critics and Outer Critic’s Circle Awards), Lost in Yonkers, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Grace and Glorie; in the London premiere of The Witches Of Eastwick; in national tours of Seesaw, Whose Life Is It Anyway?, Social Security and My One And Only (Sarah Siddons Award).  She starred in her own series, The Lucie Arnaz Show and on the big screen with Neil Diamond and Sir Laurence Oliver in The Jazz Singer (Golden Globe Nomination) and has lent her voice to the new animated fantasy about the NY Yankees, Henry And Me.  Lucie has performed the opening number on the Academy Awards, at The White House several times and has performed a benefit concert for the Summer Theatre of New Canaan.  Lucie is the daughter of Lucille Ball.

Additional Masterclass Workshops scheduled this fall include Improv Masterclasses designed for elementary, middle school and high school students with nationally recognized award winning standup comic and improv artist Alexandra McHale on November 16.  More information is online at www.PerformingArtsConservatory.com or via email: info@PerformingArtsConservatory.com.
