Community Turns to GoFundMe to Help Fairfield Co. Area Animal Shelter

GoFundMe makes helping local causes easy.

It's no secret the Stamford Animal Care & Control Center does a lot of great work helping the lost, sick, injured and discarded pets around our great city, and they do it all on a really tight budget.

Now, user LJ Smith has turned to GoFundMe to try and help supplement some of their needs after recent frigid temperatures exposed some additional needs at the organization.

He's hoping the community will help raise $1,500 for special raised, durable, washable Kuranda beds for the shelter to give the animals waiting for adoption the ability to get up off the concrete floor when temperatures start to drop.

Left over money has the added bonus of going towards the shelter if the project reaches its goal. He notes those that want to donate the full cost of a bed can purchase one here. A discounted offer including shipping provides a bed directly to the shelter for $61 through the end of January.
