Maybe the social worker who makes over $135,000 bought it?
Jon S. February 15, 2013 at 05:57 PM
No, you're incorrect. Unless you were merely making a snide comment about New Canaan Public Schools' hard-working special education staff, in which case, you're just plain wrong.

Since you seem to know it all Jon S., what does she do? I know that there are separate contracts for teachers/ Counselors and then administrators. I wonder where this one falls because the position is identified as a social worker, not coordinator, supervisor, or administrator. So that's an unusually high salary even if she is at the top step. I want to know how this is justified and so should you! If I work a principal or administrator, I would ask where's the parity? This is insane!

Do you really want to know? If you live in New Canaan, why not ask directly at the NCPS office, rather than posting anonymous innuendo on an unrelated Patch article about recent real estate transactions? Good luck on your quest for the truth.

Becky. Nice to meet you. I am Glen. Woeful Glen to be honest. You have a point that the salaries most New Canaan people make is so unfair. I will add especially to the little guy like me. $135K WOW I am lucky if I make that in a decade. yea Really. Thing is everyone making it and living the good life look at me and try to con and tell my how great my life is and how they wish they had it as good as me. Really unfair
Rebecca February 17, 2013 at 02:10 AM
Many contracts are available on line. This social worker is not based in a building according to the NCPS website. I have no problem with educators or municipal employees being paid for the work they do. I am very suspicious though of someone making a hefty salary when they don't carry the same level of responsibilities of similarly paid staff. It is likely we won't get answers unless we worked on the inside or had access to the information. With the information available to the public, there appears to be a major inconsistency and inequity. This negatively affects the public's perception of economic efficiency.

Again, if you want to carry out what appears to be a personal witch hunt against an employee of the New Canaan Public Schools, fueled by your own speculations and assumptions, maybe you can find a better place to do so than here, in a column about recent home sales.
Glen K Dunbar February 17, 2013 at 01:59 PM
Becky. I do not think you are out to slander or pick on anyone. I am on your side. As for me...I personally do not care for rich people who make a ton of money and turn around and try to tell me how great my miserable life is and then even have the gall to say that they wish they had it 1/2 as good as I do. yea, they do that to me in this town. Really Amazing GLEN
Rebecca February 18, 2013 at 12:08 AM
Talk about assumptions! Personal witch hunt? That's so melodramatic. I dare you to disprove my "speculations" or "assumptions!"
Ade February 18, 2013 at 02:20 AM
Rebecca - You're calling that melodramatic when you started this thread by making a snide comment about a NCPS employee on a story about real estate?? Maybe if your question about this person's job was on the original article about the top salaries in town, people wouldn't be accusing you of a witch hunt in the first place. If you are so incredibly interested in what this employee does to earn her keep, call the superintendent and ask. It's not up to Jon S. to disprove your poorly placed questions. If you think this person is being paid too much, that's your argument to take on. You brought it up.
