New Canaan Baseball History Made

The Rebels, an 11U baseball team made up entirely of boys from New Canaan made it to the finals at the Baseball Heaven tournament last weekend.  This is the first time any team at any age group from New Canaan has gone this deep at this tournament. 
    Teams from six different states and Canada competed in the Baseball Heaven Independence Day tournament last weekend.  The 11U New Canaan Rebels won their bracket with four well played games.  The Rebels even had a 5 to 4 lead as late as the 5th inning against the New Hampshire Cannons in the Championship game.  The New Hampshire Cannons were a team comprised of players from several towns in the state.  The New Hampshire team scored three runs in their final at bat to steal the tournament championship. 
    The parent coached Rebels will be competing in Delaware this weekend, playing in the Sports at the Beach Summer Sizzler tournament.  If the Rebels win this competitive tournament they will qualify for the 11U CABA World Series, which will be played in Georgia later this summer!
