Thank You and Upcoming Auditions

A big “THANK YOU” to all the singers, dancers, Broadway performers, volunteers, and merchants who helped to make Magical Music for Life Foundation’s second annual TUNES IN TIMES SQUARE such a terrific event. More than $27,000 was raised for the production of more free downloadable music for children with autism and special needs, as well as for projects to improve the lives of children everywhere.

Open call auditions for the Magical Music Mini Singers will be held Tuesday, June 18th at 5:00 – 7:00 at The Studio, 26 Forest Street, New Canaan. Children entering 2nd– 5th grade in the 2013-14 school year are eligible for the group. These singers will be rehearsing on Sunday afternoons in New Canaan starting in September, performing in community and charity events in Fairfield County and Magical Music’s TUNES IN TIMES SQUARE in New York City, and presenting the musical, Two Little Snowflakes, during the holiday season. Magical Music for Life is a participant in the President’s Volunteer Service Award and time spent with the singing group qualifies toward the award. For more information or to sign up for an audition, please email director Lindsey Simpson at Lindsey.Simpson@magicalmusic.org. Singers auditioning should prepare a short selection (app. 32 bars) of an age-appropriate song that shows off their voice and personality, as well as bring sheet music for our accompanist. We look forward to seeing you there on the 18th!

Auditions for the high school Magical Music Singers will be held in late August or early September. If you are interested, either contact Magical Music now at Pamela.Crum@magicalmusic.org or wait for the announcement to be made closer to the audition date.
