Red, Black and Blue

Today is Fairfield County's version of Big Monday as the NCHS baseball and softball teams square off against rival Darien in FCIAC action.

The Rams baseball team is tied with Greenwich for 2nd place in the league with an 6-1 record, their lone loss coming at the hands of league-leader St. Joe's. Darien enters the game tied for 9th place with a 3-3 record, just outside the FCIAC playoff bubble. Much is at stake for both teams, including the usual border bragging rights.

On the softball side, the Lady Rams are coming in with a 6-2 record (5-1 in the FCIAC) riding a 2-game winning streak, including last week's huge win against Danbury. The Blue Wave are just a game back of New Canaan at 4-2 in the FCIAC and are playing well, having won their last 3 games by a combined score of 45-5.

Both games start at 4pm, with the boys at Mead Park and the girls at Darien High School.
