New Canaan Running Club Places 5th at Bear Classic

The New Canaan Running Club boys’ team impressed with another solid performance at the Bear Classic Invitational in Brewster, NY on Saturday, October 5, placing 5th among middle school teams from New York and Connecticut. Led by New Canaan High School Cross Country and Track & Field Coach Bill Martin, and sponsored by New Balance New Canaan, the team followed up its 5th place finish the previous weekend at the Wilton Invitational with a strong team and several outstanding individual performances on the challenging 2500 meter (1.55 miles) course around the Brewster high school campus.
Next Saturday, October 12, the New Canaan Running Club boys and girls teams will compete at the Wickham Invitational in Manchester, CT, the largest cross country invitational in New England with more than 3,000 high school and middle school runners from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire.
