Richard W. Graf, age 86, Yankees and Brooklyn Dodgers Fan

Richard W. Graf, age 86, of Jackson, NJ formerly of Vista, NY died peacefully in his sleep Tuesday morning June 18, 2013 at his home with his loving family by his side.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, July 4, 1926, he was the son of the late Richard W. and Anna Gannon Graf. Richard was the husband of Eugenia (Jean) Hurst Graf. 

Dick was a loving husband and father who spent his career working for the government. He travelled extensively though Europe and Japan and relocated several times. He lived and worked in Oklahoma, Massachusetts and New Jersey before retiring to New York. 

Dick had a great love of baseball (NY Yankees & Brooklyn Dodgers) and was captain of his softball team. He and Jean bowled and enjoyed friends and family. He was a jolly, gentle soul and will be greatly missed. 

In addition to his wife Jean, he is survived by two daughters, Lynda Hamid and her husband Addy Of San Antonio, Tx, and Wendi Griffin of Lakewood, NJ. He had six grandchildren, Aaron, Shana, Trisha, Nicholas, Michael and Melissa, and a great-grandchild Olivia.

His brother Gene Graf of California also survives. Richard was predeceased by a son Richard in 1974. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday June 21, 2013 at 10:00 Am in St Aloysius Church, Cherry Street, New Canaan with Interment to follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St, New Canaan Thursday evening from 4:00 to 8:00PM.
