1. "Norwalk and Mark Twain: Some Interesting Connections"

Where: Silvermine Arts Center, 1037 Silvermine Rd., New Canaan
When: Sunday, 4 p.m. (snow date March 20)
Why go: This “lively and humorous lecture written as part of the Mark Twain Centennial Project” will aquaint the audience with interesting connections between the city, some residents and one of America’s favorite authors. For more information call 203-966-9700 or visit www.silvermineart.org

2. “Love, Sex and the I.R.S.”

Where: 681 South Ave., New Canaan

When: Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m.; Sunday, 2:30 p.m.
Why go: The Town Players of New Canaan present this “wild farce with twists of fate, sight gags, mistaken identities and hilarious comic lines.” View details here

3. Maple Syrup Open House

Where:Ambler Farm, 257 Hurlbutt Street, Wilton
When: Saturday, 1-2 p.m.
Why go: This fascinating program is suitable for all ages. “Kids and families will have an opportunity to tap a tree, take the maple syrup taste test, learn about Native American, colonial and modern ways to make syrup and, of course, taste Ambler Farm's very own maple syrup over vanilla ice cream.” Bottles of Ambler’s maple syrup will be available for sale. Walk-ins welcome.

4. Curio Cottage Thrift Shop Annual Tag Sale

Where:Westport Woman’s Club, 44 Imperial Ave.
When: Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Why go: Good stuff for good causes! Among the wares are furniture, collectibles, housewares, home accessories, hostess gifts, linen, artwork, toys and more. Tag sale proceeds will benefit Fairfield County charities.
Price: Free admission.

5. The Guitarists of Little Feat: Paul Barrere & Fred Tackett

Where: Ridgefield Playhouse, 80 East Ridge
When: Sunday, 8 p.m.
Why go: Instrumental in the creation of Little Feat’s unique sound going back 25 years, Barrere and Tackett now perform as an acoustic duo. They have also recorded with musicians including Bonnie Raitt, Taj mahal, Bob Dylan and more. For more information click here

6. “The Four Seasons: Rejection, Faith and an Explosion of Strings”

Where: The Palace Theater, 263 Tresser Boulevard, Stamford
When: Saturday, 8 p.m.; Sunday, 3
Why go: This “explosive” concert blooms just in time for Spring with J.S. Bach’s “Brandenburg Concerto No. 3,” Martinu’s “Double Concerto” for strings, piano and timpani, and Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” with Rachel Barton Pine, violin, and Eckart Preu, harpsichord. Concert-goers are invited to arrive early for guided listening activities. Just prior to the Sunday concert, Preu will present “MusiKids,” an interactive education experience for kids ages 6-12. This has convinced my growing conviction that Patch has moved completely away from any pretense of…Read More being a news source and is simply an electronic bulletin board. By abandoning their prior procedure of approving posts before they go up, they are letting anything go on and then taking them down if they're reported. By then, it's too late: the poster has gotten their message across during the time it's in the lineup. I only check in with Patch occasionally now and so many people in town won't read it at all anymore. I think we need to be honest with ourselves about what kind of a public forum this venue is. This doesn't reflect well on Staples if they are using subterfuge and violating Terms of Use on Patch either.

Main Street looks terrible with the red white and blue line. So silly and a waste of money.
