I have the biggest problem with this [crosswalk proposal on Heritage Hill Road].
We have an existing road in our neighborhood that has numerous dips (about 12 of them in a 20-yard distance) that are bad enough to damage rims on cars, and they want to use town funds on something that is not a necessity and non-existing. We have an existing road that is a major connecting road for this neighborhood (I have lived here for almost 10 years and nothing has been done—I'm tired of dealing with this and am trying to do something for our neighborhood).
I have been down to town hall to ensure that this road is next to be worked on and have not received a definitive answer from Public Works. They think they know the reason for the "craters" (possibly tree stumps that were dumped by a previous contractor 20 years ago) yet they haven't attempted to fix the problem. They had no problem spending funds on Heather Drive (in our neighborhood), paved the entire road (not necessary) and added curbs and additional storm drains. Can't imagine the cost involved on that one. This is only a 20-40 yard area on Cedar Lane. Come take a look for yourself and imagine yourself driving over this 3-4 times a day!
It's right in front of 303 Cedar Lane. Thanks for your time!
