Lupica DC Navy Yard Rant

New Canaan resident and author Mike Lupica was on Morning Joe on Tuesday, September 17, to talk about the Navy Yard shooting and to promote his latest book.  He should have stuck to promoting his book. 

Waving his arms and calling for the prohibition of the AR-15 in a rambling, disorganized way will do no good whatsoever.  Today, Washington authorities are saying the mass murderer took a shotgun into the Navy Yard facility and acquired a handgun and AR-15 along the way.  Does Mr. Lupica suggest we take AR-15’s away from security personnel?  Didn’t security forces target and kill the murderer with AR-15’s?

If the government wants to let municipalities enact strict gun control and leave legitimate owners alone in areas which don’t need such Draconian laws, I’ll sign up.  If the Feds can pass the overweight Affordable Care Act (sic), they can craft gun laws which attack problems and leave law-abiding, responsible and mentally-healthy folks alone.

Mr. Lupica should stick to 4th of July picnics and curve balls.  If he knows a lot about firearms, he fooled many of us.
