$100K in Jewelry Stolen from New Canaan Home

New Canaan police reported this week a theft of more than $100,000 in jewelry from a St. John's Place home.

According to Sgt. Peter Condos, a 49-year-old woman reported the jewelry missing from her home on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at approximately 8:30 a.m. Six pieces of jewelry were taken, including a pearl necklace, a strand of pearls, a watch and several pairs of earrings, Condos said.

There were a number of individuals coming and going from the home, he said, including a plumber, housekeepers and other work crews. The woman reportedly kept the jewelry in a safe deposit box, but had brought it to the house to wear for te holidays, he said.

Condos said the incident remains under investigation.
