$1,500 in Checks Stolen from New Canaan Business

According to New Canaan police, $1,500 worth of travelers checks were reported stolen out of a desk at a Main Street office building last week. 

According to Sgt. Carol Ogrinc, police received a complaint from a 52-year-old Pound Ridge man on Friday, Nov. 15, at approximately 10:36 a.m. about 15 missing $100 traveler's checks he'd purchased a few years ago and kept in a desk drawer that were missing.

Ogrinc said an investigation is ongoing, but an acquaintance of an employee at the company in May 2012 is a person of interest in the case.
