A $30,000 Rolex was allegedly stolen from Henry Reid Jewelers in New Canaan on Monday afternoon.
According to police, the department received a 911 call to report the theft. The complainant said a dark-skinned man came into the store and asked to see the men's Rolex watches. The employee obliged. The man then asked to see the "Datona" model, and when the employee showed him that particular version, the man grabbed it and ran out of the store.
The employee said the man was last seen running east on Elm Street.
The watch is described as having a black leather band and a 14 karat gold case.
According to police, the suspect is "in his 30's, approximately 5'10", medium build."
Police said he was "well-dressed, wearing a black fedora, black vest, dark pants and black patent leather shoes" at the time of the theft.
