$3K in Cash, $7.5K in Coins Stolen from Bridle Path Ln. Home

A couple gets an ironic welcome to the neighborhood they just moved into in New Canaan.

The boxes weren't all unpacked on Thursday, March 6 when cash and gold coins were stolen from a couple who had just moved into their Bridle Path Lane home.

The theft was reported at 8:24 p.m. to New Canaan police. The items had been taken from an upstairs room sometime between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. that day, the couple, both 35 years old, told police.

The theft occurred in a house in the area of 100 to 200 Bridle Path Lane, police said. The five gold coins stolen were worth a total of $7,500 ($1,500 apiece, if they had a uniform value) and the cash amounted to $3,000.
