40 Gallons of Fuel Siphoned from Truck at New Canaan Construction Site

Someone stole 40 gallons worth of diesel fuel out of a construction truck last week, siphoning the gasoline over the long Labor Day weekend, New Canaan police reported Monday.

According to Sgt. Carol Ogrinc, a construction truck belonging to O&G Industries was emptied of its diesel gasoline sometime between Friday, August 30, and Tuesday, September 3, while it was parked along Talmadge Hill Road.

Ogrinc said a 49-year-old site supervisor reported finding the truck with the gas cap off and showing low fuel on Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. The supervisor reportedly knew the trucks had been filled prior to leaving Friday.

The gasoline was valued at approximately $170.
