$600 Worth of Heartburn Meds Stolen from New Canaan Walgreens

New Canaan police are looking for someone with some serious heartburn this week after a Walgreens manager reported having 32 boxes of Prilosec OTC stolen, according to authorities.

Sgt. Carol Ogrinc said a 36-year-old manager reported on September 4 at approximately 9:58 a.m. that someone stole 32 boxes of Prilosec OTC, an over-the-counter heartburn medication, from the Walgreens located at 36 Pine Street at around 5 p.m. on September 3.

An employee discovered the medication was running low in its location in the aisle and an inventory audit revealed the stock didn't match what the store should have in stock.

The medication was valued at approximately $620. Ogrinc said surveillance video is in the process of being reviewed and the case remains under investigation.
