Two Cocker Spaniels apparently abandoned in New Canaan about one month ago near the Pound Ridge, NY border are up for adoption through the town’s Animal Control unit.
According to New Canaan Police Officer Mary Ann Kleinschmitt, head of animal control, the approximately 6- to 7-year-old pups were found Dec. 19 at Puddin Hill and Lukes Wood Roads.
Dubbed Oreo and Bridget by the woman that found them, the dogs—pictured, a male and a female—are to be adopted together and interested prospective owners should call 203-594-3510 for more information.
“They’re both potty-trained and just really sweet dogs,” Kleinschmitt told New Canaan Patch. “Anyone who is interested just needs to call us and then come see the dogs.”
The animals now are at the Animal Control shelter above Lakeview Cemetery. They came to Kleinschmitt’s unit through a local vet. The dogs had no tracking chip or tags on them when they were found.
