Collision at Unmarked Intersection:

A 47-year-old New Canaan woman headed west on Urban Street toward Hill Street allegedly failed to stop at the intersection at 5:30 p.m. May 26, colliding with another a 57-year-old New Canaan man who was traveling north. Police gave the 47-year-old a verbal warning for failure to grant right of way. The accident caused minor damage.

Drivers Escape Injury in Head-On Crash:

A 76-year-old New Canaan woman looked down from the road for a moment and wound up in the wrong lane at 7:40 a.m. May 27. Police gave her a verbal warning for failure to drive right after she collided with a 63-year-old New Canaan man driving the oncoming car. Though both vehicles had to be towed from the scene and the 76-year-old was evaluated, neither driver had to be transported to the hospital.

Nasty Note Left on Parked Car's Windshield:

A man went to police headquarters on the morning of May 29 to report that his wife's vehicle had been hit in the parking lot by New Canaan Station the previous day, sustaining minor damage to the right corner of the rear bumper. The driver that had struck the vehicle had apparently left a note sarcastically advising the man's wife to park better.

Witness Leaves Note After Parked Car Bumped:

Police were able to track down the driver that bumped another vehicle parked on Forest Street on the evening of May 29 using the license plate and description a witness left on the windshield. The bump had left what appeared to be just minor scuff marks on the left rear bumper. The offending 65-year-old New Canaan driver told police he had gotten out to check but hadn't seen any damage before he took off. He agreed to cover the costs if anything needed to be buffed out.

Lost Driver Misses Stop Sign:

A 72-year-old Stamford man who was traveling north on Ponus Ridge told police he had been searching for the nearby entrance to the Merritt Parkway when he allegedly blew through the stop sign at the intersection of Jelliff Mill and struck a vehicle heading west on that road. A 63-year-old man riding with the 72-year-old went to the hospital with a possible broken arm; the 36-year-old Stamford woman driving the other vehicle complained of neck and shoulder pain.
