Car Stolen from Gas Pump at Cumberland Farms

Police are trying to track down the suspect and vehicle.

A woman's car was stolen from the Cumberland Farms gas station on the Post Road on Tuesday, police said.

According to the report, the complainant had placed the gas pump in the tank and then walked into the convenience store while the tank was filling up. She had left the keys in the vehicle, which was unlocked.

A man --witnesses described him as light-skinned -- then entered the car and drove off, according to the report. Surveillance video showed the suspect had been pacing around the gas station prior to the theft.

The vehicle is a purple 2001 Lexus RX 300. Anyone with information on the car or the suspect should contact the Detective Bureau at 203-254-4840.

Just like the people who leave thousands of dollars worth of electronic gadgets and cash in plain site, unlocked. Then wonder why someone stole it all.

This was my friend who had her car stolen. You would think in broad daylight in Fairfield, CT you would be able to run into a store and not worry about some scumbag stealing your car. She is not an idiot!!

Hmmmm, Mr. Arnold. There has only ever been one execution in all of CT for "burglary." That was in 1768 in New Haven County. Would you care to edit your statement at all?

You would think in broad daylight your friend would be smart enough to take her keys with her. Just sayin'.
