Car Stolen Out of New Canaan Driveway

A car was stolen out of the driveway of a New Canaan home, police reported this week.

A 46-year-old man reported one of the three cars parked in the driveway of his White Oak Shade Road home was missing and the other two had been broken into and rifled through, according to Sgt. Carol Ogrinc.

Ogrinc said the man reported the theft at 7:16 a.m. on Thursday, October 3. Neighbors reported hearing loud noises at around 2:30 a.m., she said.

The vehicle, a red 2011 Mazda CX9, was valued at approximately $25,000 and is still missing. The car's key fob was in the vehicle at the time, and the vehicle contained hockey gear and a pair of skates, she said.
