A Mariomi Road resident reported to New Canaan police on Dec. 4 that 10 sections of copper downspouts were stolen from his home the week prior, according to Sgt. Carol Ogrinc.
The complainant told police that he noticed a piece of copper gutter on the ground near his garage and when he tried to repair it, he noticed multiple sections missing from around his garage and house. He told police that, in total, the missing sections are valued at $50,000.
During the same week, a CL&P supervisor reported to police on that someone had taken 10 rolls of copper wire from five different trucks parked at the Lakeview Avenue substation.
What a waste!
