Copper Stolen from New Canaan Construction Site

Almost $300 in copper was stolen from a Sunset Hill Road construction site August 13, New Canaan police reported Monday.

According to Sgt. Carol Ogrinc, a 47-year-old New Canaan construction worker reported to police at approximately 12:09 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, that two rolls of copper flashing had gone missing from a home construction site where work was being done.

The rolls were valued at approximately $140 each. Ogrinc said they went missing at some point over the weekend, as the complainant reported having seen them Friday afternoon as he left the site.

Ogrinc said a vehicle of interest was seen in the area over the weekend. She described the car as a red Ford Pick, model F-150 or F-250, with an extended cab, ladder rack and unknown logo on the side. Police would like to speak with the owner of that vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call 203.594.3500
