Cops: Teens with Beer, Pot Reined in on Bridle Path Lane

According to a police report, the 18-year-old host of a party Saturday said the 60 cans of beer, bottles of booze and pot were all his.

A 10:15 p.m. report of an under-age drinking party on Bridle Path Lane last Saturday brought New Canaan police to the scene, according to this account (an accusation not proven in court) from police:

Behind the house, the sight of numerous beer cans and the lingering smell of marijuana in the air around seven youths, all 18, caused police to question them.

Of the seven questioned, one — Tucker Saitta, 18 — owned up to being a resident of the house, the host of the party and the owner of the pot and beer. His parents weren't home.

Police also found two metal grinders for marijuana, one large bong, four packs of rolling papers, two smaller smoking pipes, one electronic scale 60 cans of beer, a bottle of rum and a bottle of vodka.

Saitta also had a phony driver's license falsely indicating he is older than he is.

He was charged with possession of more than ½ ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of alcohol by a minor, failure to halt possession of alcohol by a minor, second-degree forgery.

Saitta was later released on a $2,500 bond. He is scheduled to appear April 30 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
