Country Club Reports $7,500 in Damage to Golf Course

The vandalism at the Country Club Road course appears to have been caused by tire tracks from an off-road vehicle, police say.

 

An off-road vehicle or something similar caused about $7,500 worth of damage to a fairway at the Country Club of New Canaan’s golf course, police said.

Some time between 8 p.m. on Jan. 27 and 8:48 a.m. the following day, the damage was done to 3,300 feet of specialized turf at the course’s second hole, according to Sgt. Carol Ogrinc of the New Canaan Police Department.

“There was quite a bit of damage that appears to have caused by an ATV or something like that, “ she said.

The case is under investigation.
