The 11-person at Smith Ridge and Michigan Road on June 22 has resulted in the Darien teen driver of the Suburban to be charged with four counts of first-degree reckless endangerment, reckless driving, possession of alcohol by a minor on a public street, motor vehicle passenger restriction (drivers under the age of 18 who have had their license for less than a year are not permitted to have passengers other than family), transporting more passengers than available seatbelts, and failure to obey a stop sign, said Sgt. Carol Ogrinc.
According to police, toxicology reports indicated that the driver was not under the influence of alcohol.
The driver posted $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on August 22, said Ogrinc.
The other eight teens in the Suburban were not charged with anything, said Ogrinc.
